travel diary: Holbox

Por primera vez fui a Holbox, si no sabes dónde es, es una pequeña Isla ubicada en Quintana Roo al Sur Este de México.

Para llegar a la Isla tienes que tomar un par de buses o rentar un servicio privado (Holboxeño) para llegar y tomar un Ferry desde un pueblo llamado Chiquila.

El Ferry tiene un precio de $150 Mx pesos (7dlls) es un corto ride a la Isla, les recomiendo comprar comida, repelente, bloqueador antes de tomar el ferry ya que dentro de la isla puede ser un poco más costoso adquirirlo.

La Isla es muy calmada, si andas en busca de fiesta ir a Holbox no creo que sea la mejor opción, pero si lo tuyo es un lugar relajado, comida deliciosa y disfrutar de un hermoso atardecer tienes que ir lo antes posible.

For the first time I went to Holbox, if you do not know where it is, it's a small island located in Quintana Roo in the South East of Mexico, to get to the island you have to take a couple of buses or rent a private service (Holboxeño) to get there and take a ferry from a little town called Chiquila.

The Ferry has a price of $ 150 MX pesos (7dlls) is a short ride to the island, I recommend buying food, repellent, sunscreen before taking the ferry because inside the island it can be a bit more expensive.

The island is very calm, if you are looking for party,  I do not think Holbox it is the best option, but if your are looking for a relaxed place, delicious food and beautiful sunsets you have to go as soon as possible.

Cuando visiten la isla, les recomiendo ir a consentir a los perros del Refugio Animal rescatan animales que se encuentren en peligro, perros, gatos, aves, mi corazón se encogió al ver tantos animales tan maltratados, pero me dio mucha felicidad ver como estas personas les dedican todo el tiempo del mundo para que se recuperen. No olvides dejar una donación cuando los visites.

When visiting the island, I recommend going to the Animal Shelter they rescue animals that are in danger, dogs, cats, birds, my heart cringed to see so many animals so abused, but I was very happy to see how these people love the animals and how they devote all the time in the world to them to recover. Do not forget to leave a donation when you visit them.

Uf, desayunar es mi parte favorita del dia, Painapol fue uno de mis lugares favoritos para brunch, los precios son razonables y la comida es deliciosa y aun mejor, es muy instagrameable.

Having breakfast is my favorite part of the day, Painapol was one of my favorite places for brunch, the prices are reasonable and the food is delicious and even better, it is very instagrameable place.

Bichos es un pequeño local de tres mesas con sazón casero al cien por ciento, es un lugar super sencillo pero muy bonito, les recomiendo pedir huevos a la Mexicana.

Bichos is a small place with three tables with homemade taste, it is a very simple place but very nice little place, I recommend ordering "Mexican eggs". 

Yo me hospedé en Ida y Vuelta es un pequeño Hostal y Cabañas súper cool, la gente super amigable.

I stayed in Ida y Vuelta is a super cool small hostel and cabins, super friendly people.

Para shopping hay muchas tiendas hermosas donde venden piezas de artesanos, diseñadores y artistas locales, Arte Sano me encantó, ropa divina y unos accesorios increíbles.

For shopping there are many beautiful shops where they sell pieces of artisans, designers and local artists, I loved Arte Sano, divine clothes and some incredible accessories.

En Holbox hay muchos paquetes para ver la bioluminiscencia la verdad vale mucho la pena hacerlo, fue algo mágico!!! 

La playa es hermosas y limpia, pero aun así si vez basura no olvides que tienes que recogerla, yo cuando estuve en la playa recogía la basura que veía en mi camino, es impresionante la cantidad de basura que puedes recolectar, ayudemos a conservar este lugar y otros en mejores circunstancias.

Ojalá tengas la oportunidad de visitar Holbox pronto, no olvides de ser un turista responsable, no tires basura en la calle, mucho menos en el mar, respeta a los locales y a los demás turistas.

In Holbox there are many packages to see the bioluminescence is very worth doing doing this activity, it was very magical!

The beach is beautiful and clean, but even that do not forget that you have to pick up trash if you see on the ground, when I was at the beach I picked up the garbage that I saw when I was wolking, it is impressive how much garbage you can collect, let's help keep this place and others in better circumstances.

I hope you have the opportunity to visit Holbox soon, do not forget to be a responsible tourist, do not throw garbage in the street, much less at sea, respect the locals and other tourists.
